It has been a long time since I updated so here goes.
I have always believed in helping out, giving back as it were. So I decided to help out with a small group on DA approving art submissions. That group is Art-Addicts, check it out, there is a lot of great stuff in there, a little something for everyone.
I picked up a new camera after Christmas, Canon 70D, I read a lot of reviews on it and was torn between that one and the the tried and true 7D. I really like it so far, the focus system is pretty much taken right out of the 7D, but the live view focus is new and quite an improvement. There are a ton of features on it I can't wait to try out. I have also started shooting my photos in raw format and using Lightroom 5 for processing. I have a lot to learn about Lightroom but so far I like what I see.
Birding this winter for me has suffered on two fronts, I have less free time due to work and this winter there seems to be a scarcity of the smaller birds, redpolls, siskens etc. Lots of eagles, hawks and owls but the smaller birds seem to have gone elsewhere. I am hoping to do a trip in May either to Texas (Aransas National Wildlife Refuge) or Point Pelee in Ontario for spring migration. I am told both are amazing for birds so we will see what happens.

Almost spring.
Soon the spring migration will be starting, a few early birds already arriving. Weather has been mild the last few weeks so soon the ice will be off the ponds and lakes. Can't wait to see what shows up around here this year.
Time of changes
So much changes this time of year. Winter starts its eventual take over of my world, changing the colours of fall to the whites and blue skies of winter.
I have changed jobs within the same company, actually going back to a job i had almost 9 years ago, I needed a change of pace. So much has changed in that job over the years it is almost like learning a new one, although i am sure it will all come back to me quickly. I will have a bit less time for photography for a while, until I get more comfortable in my new old job, as it is safety related and requires me to make sure i understand the new procedures and processes so I feel i should co
Zombie Walk soon....
Can't wait, it's always a good time, hopefully the weather is good and the turnout is great!
Summer time = outdoors
My first spring birding, and it has been great. So many new species of birds and some pretty good photographs too. Time to enjoy life!
